Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Bongaigaon caters to the educational needs of the employees of N. F. Railway as well as the other central and state government employees of the area, besides the local population. Established in 1987 with a student strength of 147, it has grown into a full fledged school functioning in it s own A1, type KVS building situated inside a sprawling14.6 acre campus that is full of greenery. It is under the civil sector (Railway) with a student strength of about 900 and staff strength of 40, with two sections each in classes from I to IX and single section from X to XII. At the +2 level science stream with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics Practices are offered as elective subjects. Computer education is offered right from class I onwards.
